Evening Tent Camp
Day 3 Tuesday
Morning: Off to a new camp high in a mountain pass. We will be running a smaller very busy little clear water river today.
Evening Tent camp
Day 4 Wednesday
Morning Kenai River Canyon: This is a world-famous trophy salmon river. Most visitors float above or below the canyon because it is a non-motorized section of river that few visit due to the 7 mile lake paddle at the end. Ah, the value of a packraft, we roll them up, and hike 45 minutes out of the canyon, avoiding a long paddle or the smell of outboard fumes… Packraft…got to love it. This is a much larger river than what you have floated to date, lots of wave trains to float over, and salmon to dodge. Do not be surprised if your paddle bumps a fish. You’ ll be amazed at the hundreds of salmon swimming in the eddies. Where there are salmon there are bears. If we are going to see grizzly bears, this is the river. The relaxing hike out, just 45 minute climb out through a burn, allows majestic vistas of Skilak Lake.
Evening: Camp at our same camp in the Mountain Pass
Day 5 Thur We step it up today.Short drive to run a very small, very very busy creek . High in a mountain pass this creek takes several hours to run and ends right at our camp.
Day 6 Fri Your last day! We promise an eventful day. We pick the last river while you are on your week adventure. We make the decision based on river levels, weather, and the groups skill set.
Evening Return you to your Anchorage lodging.
